Four international hotel chains (TOP CityLine, Best Western, Marriott, Vienna International)
as well as boutique hotels associated under the trade name 5BH (BW Hotel Panorama, Hotel Plzeň, Hotel Palace, Hotel Roudná, Hotel Irida) operate in the city at present. Conference facilities are available on the premises of the University of West Bohemia, in the J. K. Tyl Theatre, in the House of Culture halls or in the splendidly restored Municipal Meeting House. The Pilsner Urquell Brewery can offer modern conference facilities in the complex of the brewery itself. Conference programmes may be complemented by a tour of the wine company Bohemia Sekt (specializing in sparkling wines) and/of a tour of the brewery.
Cultural Offer
The city enjoys a rich cultural life. The J. K. Tyl Theatre (opera, operetta, musical, ballet, and drama) as well as the puppet Alfa Theatre (with their “tailor-made” productions for foreign visitors) are favoured by both Czech and international audience. The “official” cultural scene is complemented by a range of so called alternative and club productions and last but not least by the rich calendar of events on the pedestrian zones in the city centre.
