Folk Architecture

Pilsen is a city with an unusual number of listed rural protected areas and zones. As Pilsen grew, it swallowed small villages situated at the outskirts, where the historical cores – usually village greens with chapels and farmhouses in the style of folk neo-classicism and typically elaborate decorations of the gables and entry gates – were mostly preserved. Thus, three rural protected areas and seven listed village zones can be found here.
