Martin’s Market (November 4th - 11th)
In the Czech Republic it is said that on the 11th of November, Saint Martin arrives on a white horse and brings the first snow. At that time, the first young, the so-called St. Martin's wine, also appears. Restaurants offer special Saint Martin’s menus which are dominated by the St. Martin's goose. Traditional St. Martin's Market takes place in the Republic Square.
Pilsen Design Week (November 13th – 19th)
In the middle of November, a fashion show presenting current design - the Pilsen Design Week will be hosted in DEPO2015 as well as in other places in the city centre of Pilsen. For the whole week, visitors will have a great opportunity to learn more about the world of design and applied art and during the final sales show in DEPO 2015 they will be given the chance to buy some of the unique design pieces and take them home.
Beer-Tapping School (November 3rd and 18th)
Beer tapping is an art of its own. During the three-hour-long course in the Pilsner Urquell Brewery you will find out that it is not as easy as it may seem. But all of you will learn how to tap various types of tapped beer and taste the world-wide known lager together with traditional Czech goulash. Christmas Market (November 24th – December 23rd)
Discover the charming atmosphere of the Pilsen Christmas Market. With a cup of hot wine or hot punch, you can taste various types of Christmas sweets, choose original Christmas decorations or buy gifts for your loved ones. In the period of Advent, the entire historical city centre of Pilsen is decorated with Christmas lights and decorations.
Lighting of the Christmas Tree (December 3rd)
Lighting of the Christmas tree will take place in the Republic Square on the same day as every year and it is on the first Advent Sunday. This year Christmas decoration for the city of Pilsen will be a spruce. You can look forward to additional cultural programme of the event. Christmas atmosphere will be also brought closer by Advent concerts in the St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral.
Farmers’ Market (November 4th and 18th and December 2nd and 16th)
Pilsen Farmers' Market is traditionally held in the Republic Square on the first and third Saturday of every month. The stands open for you from 8am to 12pm. Here you can buy high-quality food produced and grown by local farmers and producers, including fresh meat, various types of smoked meat, seasonal fruit and vegetable or crispy pastry. Moreover, Farmers’ Market is another pleasant place to go to in Pilsen on Saturday morning for great breakfast.
