  • Soup Festival (September 3rd)

Of soup and love, the first is best! The very last part of this year´s Vivid Street Festival attracts foodies to the Pilsner Urquell premises on the first Sunday in September.  You will have a chance to taste various soups of different tastes and flavours which will be prepared on the open fire in 40litres cauldrons in front of your eyes.

  • Beer-tapping School (September 6th – 22nd )

During the three-hour-long course in the Pilsner Urquell Brewery you will learn how to tap various types of tapped beer, taste the world-wide known lager together with traditional Czech goulash. As a souvenir, you will get not only the newly-acquired skills of a beer-tapping master but also a beer glass with your name on it.   • Farmers´ Market (September 9th, 23rd and 30th)

In September, you can visit a famers´ market on three Saturdays. On second and fourth September Saturday you can go shopping at the market on the central Republic Square (náměstí Republiky) between the St Bartholomew Cathedral and the City Hall. You can buy seasonal fruits and vegetable as well as tasty food products from reginal farmers and producers. The market starts at 8 a.m. and finishes around the noon. On last September Saturday the market takes place in the Pilsner Urquell brewery.

  • Days of Science and Technology (September 8th and 9th)

The area of the central square in the historical city centre as well as the space in front of the main building of the West Bohemian Museum are going to change into a large scientific laboratory since Friday till Saturday. Observe interesting displays watch see unusual experiments there. You will also be able to try some of them on your own. Come and convince yourself that science can be fun for almost everybody!

  • Cruise of Extraordinary Vessels (September 9th)

Only once a year you can see vessels of various shapes to sail the gigantic weir in front of the Wilson Bridge thanks to the special event. Obviously a ramp is going to be built there. Annually the show attracts brave participants as well as curious passer-by. In fact, you are going to see to sail objects you have never thought of being able to float.

  • European Heritage Days (September 9th)

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, Hugo Selmer’s Apartment designed by world-famous architect Adolf Loos is exceptionally going to open for public. You can admire a wonderful music room with walls tiled with fantastico marble. You can book a tour of the Loos interior at

  • Czech Athletic Team Championships (September 10th)

Best Czech athletes famous all around the world are going to meet in Pilsen for the Czech team championship. Jakub Holusa, Jakub Vadlejch, Pavel Maslak, Denisa Rosolova and many others participants of Olympic games and World Championships are going to compete in twenty disciplines. Come and see the thrilling and extraordinary show.

  • International Festival Theatre (September 13th -21st)

Every September Pilsen is invaded by the Intentional Festival Theatre. This year´s programme offers a selection of the most significant domestic as well as foreign productions of last season. Besides Czech actors, you are going to see theatre companies from Belgium, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. You will find a detailed programme at

  • Traditional Wenceslas Market (September 13th – 18th)

You will meet the autumn atmosphere at the traditional Wenceslas Market observing traditional craftsmen, enjoying good food and drinks. It may seem to be a bit distant but the Christmas I slowly coming; therefore, you could start looking for some Christmas presents there.

  • Sun in the Glass (September 15th – 16th)

In the world metropolis of beer, there are never too many beer events. The festival Sun in the Glass offers more than 150 beer brands produced by Czech as well as foreign micro-breweries, top gastronomy experience, beer contests, music and dance performances. You may also visit the beer spa, take a tour of the local Purkmistr microbrewery or play adventure golf there. You will find more information at

  • Pilsen Fireworks (September 15th – 16th)

The firework contests takes place on third weekend in September in Skodaland in Litice. Four firework companies from the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and Slovakia are going to compete. The music accompanying the fireworks can be tuned on Radio Samson.  You can also enjoy a nice sport afternoon at the sport centre facilities of Skodaland. The programme also contains various concerts and fencing performances.

  • Pilsen Busking Fest (September 20th -23rd)

Pilsen Busking Fest is an original festival of street art. During four September days, it offers concerts, dance performances, street theatre and many other artistic experiences by performers from all around the world. The only entrance fee you need to pay is a donation to those whose performance you have enjoyed. You can also visit the new project of creative zones for young artists.   • Autumn Edition of Pilsen Wine Festival (September 28th)

Although Pilsen is a beer town, you do no need to travel to the South Moravia for a wine tasting. At the end of September, you can taste wines from twenty Czech and Moravian wine producers in the historical centre of Pilsen. A nice music programme is also planned for the event. The tickets can be purchased at the festival location in Kopeckeho sady.

  • Pilsner Fest (October 7th)

Traditional outstanding celebrations of the day when the very first batch of the world-famous lager was produced takes place on 7th October in the Pilsen Urquell Brewery. This year we are going to celebrate 175th Anniversary. You are invited to taste fairly tapped beer and enjoy extraordinary music show. You may also vist a brewery tour.
