Historical City Centre of Pilsen Gets Alive with Vivid Street Festival
Open-air events, beer gardens and evening walks through the historical city centre of Pilsen – that is something that inseparably belongs to the summer season in the city. One of many popular summer events is the Vivid Street Festival. In the middle of July, the festival audience will be welcomed by the theatre block of the festival. In the middle of August, the programme focuses more on music performances. The festival is finished on the first Saturday in September by the Soup Festival.
Behind the Door is Theatre (July 10th – 12th)
In the middle of July, the Vivid Street Festival offers alternative theatre, new-circus performances and puppet theatre for children. The festival performances will take place in the Mill Race which is near the historical city centre. Look forward to jugglers, acrobats and street-artists who will not let you get bored.
Vivid Street (August 10th – 20th)
In the middle of August, Pilsen will be filled with music, movies, art and fashion. During the festival, you can listen to rock, indie pop, alternative music performances from Czech and foreign music groups. Do not miss The Tap Tap, Fast Food Orchestra or The Prostitutes. Festival stages will be located directly in the city centre. Fashion lovers will be inspired by the days of authorship fashion presented in the Republic Square. Good food will be served, the festival does not forget the pleasure brought by delicious food as a festival of international cuisines is a part of the Vivid Street Festival too. Bring your children with you, puppet area will be prepared specifically for them and it gives them an opportunity to star in a fairy tale or experience the job of a director or an actor. The children scene can be visited with the whole family daily from 3-7 p.m.
Soup Festival (September 3rd)
Cultural summer in the city of Pilsen will be concluded by the Soup Festival which takes place on September 3rd in the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. Come and taste many types of soup cremes and bouillons which will be prepared in huge metal cauldrons and on open fire directly in the yard of the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. Both traditional Czech soups and foreign specialities will be served.
