Vivid Street Summer Festival Offers Theatre, Music and a Stage for Children

Vivis Street festival entertain Pilsen during the whole summer.

The Mill Race, Safarikovy sady, Republic Square, U Branky, Zach's Pub or Bedřich Smetana Street - these are the locations in the historical centre of Pilsen which in July and August will be flooded with the summer atmosphere thanks to the traditional multi-genre Vivid Street Festival. Already in the middle of July, you can enjoy the theatre block of the festival with its stage in the Mill Race. The middle of August will traditionally bring concerts performed on several stages. You can say goodbye to this year's Vivid Street Festival on the last holiday Sunday in the Pilsner Urquell Brewery area during the traditional Soup Festival.

  • Theatre in the Mill Race (July 16th -17th)

The seventh year of the Vivid Street Festival starts on Monday, July 16th, in the Mill Race area by the theatre mini-festival which is called “Behind the door is ... theatre!” From Monday to Wednesday you can enjoy the pleasant park with a pond located halfway between the brewery and the historical city centre, together with a few interesting shows, including a micro-performance for one spectator by the ensemble Le Cabaret Nomade. The organizers invite you to visit a picturesque tent where for a moment you can become a part of the bizarre world of two ladies- conjoined twins. Foreign artists performing during the Vivid Street Festival will be represented by a street artist Djuggled from Germany, French wizard Ben Zuddhist and Italian duo of a drummer and a juggler called La Sbrindola.

  • Main Music Block of the Vivid Street Festival (August 10th – 19th)

From August 10th, you can enjoy the 10-day main block of the Vivid Street Festival which includes, for example, Slam on the Street, a concert of the Paris-born singer of African origin Madame So, or a performance of the music bands Znouzecnost and Sto zvířat. On Monday, August 16th and Tuesday, August 17th, Bedřich Smetana Street will move in the reggae rhythm by French DJ S-BIsH within the Pilsen Fashion Market where the author's fashion will be available. The anniversary of the 1968 events will be remembered by the multi-genre performances by the ensembles Spitfire Company and Continuo Theatre.

  • Vivid Street for Children

If you visit the festival with children do not miss puppet theatre performances in Proluka where the wooden puppets will be waiting for the smallest festival goers - everybody who wants to become a puppet master can try every day from 3pm to 7 pm. The accompanying programme of the puppet theatre will be prepared by foreign performers providing various workshops.
