Few cities have such a special location as Pilsen. It lies on the gradual confluence of four rivers in the middle of the Pilsen Basin. It is surrounded on all sides by hills that are largely covered with forests. Vast forest massifs in the northern Pilsen area and the romantic rural character of southern Pilsen near the western Bohemia metropolis make it easy to forget that Pilsen is the fourth largest city in the country.
The region has a significant number of monuments, especially magnificent Baroque monastery and chateau structures, thanks to which the Pilsen area is called the Baroque Pearl. In this age of crowded tourist resorts, the region offers a unique and refreshing opportunity to spend a holiday in the beautiful countryside with excellent services, a wealth of possibilities for active leisure as well as the countless cultural and social facilities of the regional capital.
